WEST FARGO - A suspicious package found by a West Fargo city employee early today near a city pump house contained some food but no explosive material, police said.
The package was discovered about 12:50 a.m. in the 100 block of Fifth Avenue East.
It measured about 16 inches long and 6 inches wide and appeared to be a briefcase, and it had a white cloth about an inch long sticking out the side of it, West Fargo police said in a news release.
The Red River Valley Regional Bomb Squad deployed its robot and opened the package.
