Youths from the Fargo-Moorhead metro area are invited to take part Sunday in a "Halftime Chalk Talk" to recognize their accomplishments as activists and to spur them to do more.
The event, starting at 5 p.m., will be in the Scheels Center on the campus of Oak Grove Lutheran School in north Fargo.
The celebration, which coincides with Super Bowl Sunday, will include pizza and energy drinks to help fuel a brainstorming session and call to action.
The event commemorates The Forum's recent selection of metro youth, whose civic accomplishments include the Fill the Dome food drive, as its Area Person of the Year recipient for 2008.
Last year's recipient, Tracy Briggs, a WDAY radio personality who was recognized as The Forum's Person of the Year for 2007, will be on hand at the event to "pass the torch."

Briggs was recognized for her work in organizing "honor flights" enabling World War II veterans to fly to Washington to visit the memorial to soldiers of that war. Forum Editor Matthew Von Pinnon also will be present.
