Veteran slugger Jimmy Hurst joined the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks today in a move the RedHawks hope will help add pop to their lineup.
Hurst took batting practice with the team today at Newman Outdoor Field, but wasn't in the lineup against Kansas City. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Hurst is expected to officially sign Wednesday.
"It brings us a presence, something we need," RedHawks manager Doug Simunic said.
The right-handed swinging Hurst has 249 home runs through 16 minor league seasons.
