The faculty union representing Minnesota state universities has reached a tentative contract settlement for 2003-2005.
The Inter Faculty Organization reached the agreement Thursday evening with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
Negotiations for the 2003-2005 contract took 15 months. Wilbert Harri, administrative assistant with IFO, said health coverage was a primary bargaining issue.
Health-care coverage for dependents of union members has increased 15 percent, Harri said.
Details of the contract won't be made available to faculty members until mid-July, after IFO board members have voted on it, Harri said.

MnSCU officials are hopeful IFO will ratify the contract, said Linda Kohl, associate vice president of public affairs.
IFO represents 3,000 university faculty members in Minnesota, including Minnesota State University Moorhead.
The MSUM member of the negotiating team could not be reached for comment Friday.
