Fargo, Cass County begin sandbag removal

The city of Fargo encourages homeowners to begin removing sandbags.

Sandbags may be placed on the pavement adjacent to the curb. Fargo will begin picking up the bags next week.

Homeowners in need of help for backyard removal can go online, www.cityoffargo.com , for information. The city will begin assisted removal April 19.

Cass County will begin sandbag pickup next week.

Residents in unincorporated cities should check with city officials regarding pickup.

Rural residents are required to remove sandbag levees and place bags on public streets or at the end of their driveway. Contractors will not be authorized to enter private property to remove bags.

Sandbag pickup for areas affected by Red River or Wild Rice River flooding will begin next week. A second and final pass will be made the week of April 5.

Areas affected by the Sheyenne, Maple or Rush rivers will schedule sandbag pickup after the threat of flooding subsides.
