FARGO - Production at Fargo's Sandbag Central is expected to wrap up this week - at least for now.
The city expects to have about 2.6 million bags filled by Friday, said Enterprise Director Bruce Grubb.
That should fulfill Fargo's sandbag needs to protect neighborhoods against a 42-foot crest, said City Administrator Pat Zavoral. Engineers have reduced actual sandbag needs to about 2.2 million because of the use of clay levees, he said.
Sandbag Central will remain set up in case flood predictions come in higher than expected and volunteers are needed to fill more bags.
