FARGO - Fargo police arrested a man in Devils Lake on Tuesday following a months-long investigation into luring by computer in which a detective posed online as a juvenile female, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

Allan Richard Vetsch, 40, of Devils Lake, was apprehended during a traffic stop there after Fargo police got a warrant for his arrest, Lykken said.

Vetsch is accused of luring a minor by computer or other electronic means, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

He was taken to the Lake Region Correctional Facility in Devils Lake and will be transferred to Cass County, Lykken said.

The Fargo Police Department launched the investigation in June as part of its membership in the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Lykken said.
