A 45-year-old Fargo man was arrested Tuesday and accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy he met on the Internet.

Thomas Meyer, 909 43rd Ave. N., faces charges of gross sexual imposition, displaying obscenity to a minor and possessing child pornography, police said.

The investigation began when police were called by a mandatory reporter, said Lt. Pat Claus. People who hold certain jobs, such as teachers or social workers, are required by law to tell police about evidence of children being abused.

After investigating the complaint, police believe Meyer showed explicit photographs to the 16-year-old and had sexual contact with him, Claus said.
