A Fargo man was arrested after a high-speed chase early this morning ended with a crash that left a West Fargo police officer with minor injuries.
Kyle Belgarde, 21, was stopped at 1:42 a.m. by Officer Gerald Boyer at 4th Street and East Main Avenue in West Fargo, police said. Boyer made the stop suspecting Belgarde was driving under the influence.
Belgarde initially talked with Boyer, then drove off, police said.
Boyer and other West Fargo officers pursued Belgard east on Main at speeds up to 60 mph, police said. Belgarde then turned south on Interstate 29 and then west onto Interstate 94, reaching speeds of 95 mph.
Near exit 343 on I-94 for West Main Avenue, police said Belgarde tried to make a U-turn and hit a patrol car driven by West Fargo officer Tyler Williams, disabling both vehicles.

Belgarde was arrested with the help of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. He was charged with fleeing a police officer, driving under the influence, driving without liability insurance, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
Belgarde's passenger, Shawn Taxis, 20, Fargo, was charged with minor in consumption. Neither Belgarde or Taxis were injured, police said.
Officer Williams was transported by F-M Ambulance to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, where he was treated for injuries and released.
Police said this will be the third driving under the influence charge against Belgarde this month, with the other two incidents occurring in Fargo.
Williams has been with the West Fargo Police Department since 2002.
