A Fargo man faces felony charges after a Sunday night domestic incident turned into an assault on a police officer.
David Hunt II, 36, 339 8th Ave. S., was arrested at 1:20 a.m. Monday, said Fargo Police Lt. Tod Dahle.
Dahle said Hunt's roommate came in to the police station to report that he fought with an apparently intoxicated Hunt Sunday night in their apartment. During the fight, Hunt bit the man in the arm and chest, breaking the skin, Dahle said. When the man shut himself in a bedroom to get away from Hunt, he could hear Hunt threatening him.
When officers arrived at the residence, Hunt was uncooperative and verbally abusive, Dahle said. When officers attempted to arrest him for domestic abuse, he fought with them. He head-butted and kicked officer Zack Messmer, who was treated and released at MeritCare Hospital, Dahle said.
Officers arrested Hunt on felony charges of terrorizing and assaulting a peace officer, a felony warrant from Kansas; and misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and resisting a police officer.
