Fargo man pleads guilty in parking ramp assault

FARGO - A 21-year-old Fargo man pleaded guilty on Monday to sexually assaulting and choking an employee of Sanford Medical Center in an attack in the hospital's downtown parking ramp in August.

Richard Dwayne Perry pleaded guilty in Cass County District Court to aggravated assault and gross sexual imposition.

Police accused Perry of choking the woman from behind at about 5:40 a.m. in an employee parking ramp, knocking both of them down a stairwell.

He then pinned her down by her neck and fondled her, the victim told officers.

Perry will be sentenced at a later date, following a pre-sentence investigation.
