Ahmed Sheikhabu entered an Alford plea in Cass County District Court on Tuesday to a Class C felony count of reckless endangerment and driving under the influence, a Class B misdemeanor. In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges there's enough evidence for a conviction.

Court documents said witnesses saw Sheikhabu drive his car into Habib Cuisine at 2225 13th Ave. S. multiple times, then aim his car at a restaurant employee who tried to stop him, while yelling "I'll kill you."

Sheikhabu was sentenced to time served, plus two years of supervised probation. Prosecutors say they may ask him to pay restitution for $18,133 in damages to the restaurant.
