FARGO – A 26-year-old man accused of burning down a farmhouse near Erie to impress a woman was sentenced Monday to 18 months of supervised probation.
Fredrick Bohjanen Jr., who was charged in March, pleaded guilty to felony counts of arson, conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, theft of property and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bohjanen was credited with spending two days in jail, and he received a suspended prison sentence of two years, Cass County prosecutor Gary Euren said.
In October, Sheriff’s Department investigators found Bohjanen in possession of several vehicle batteries that were reported stolen in the Erie area, according to court documents.
Further investigation revealed that Bohjanen and another man had set up a small marijuana growing operation at an Erie home. Also, investigators learned from witnesses that Bohjanen had set fire to a farmhouse northwest of Erie to impress a woman, court documents stated. No injuries were reported.
