Fresh off a monthly record in December, the Fargo-Moorhead area faces a winter weather advisory through
6 tonight.
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, N.D., said the area could expect another round of snow, with total accumulation of 3 to 5 inches in the Red River Valley, the weather service said Friday.
The weather service has also issued a winter storm warning for northwest and west-central Minnesota slated to begin at 6 a.m. today and expire at 6 a.m. Sunday.
This storm is expected to bring 6 to 10 inches of snow to areas east of the Red River Valley, the release said.

The high temperature is expected to reach 19 today in Fargo-Moorhead, and 2 below Sunday.
Wind chill values could dip to around 30 below tonight and Sunday.
Winds could also lead to blowing and drifting snow, limiting visibility in open areas, according to the weather service.
Last month, a record 33.5 inches of snow fell in Fargo - the most in any month in recorded history.
