FARGO -The Fargo School District recently announced the assignment of three elementary principals.
Sara L. Schafer has been named principal of Bennett Elementary School.
Schafer takes over the post July 1 from Principal Tricia Erickson, who is retiring.
Schafer is a North Dakota native and educator who has spent the past 20 years in the Washington, D.C., area. Since 2012, she has been the lead academic principal for T.C. Williams High School Minnie Howard Campus in Alexandria, Va. It is a ninth-grade center with more than 900 students.
Tanya Wrigley-Lingle has been named principal for the kindergarten through fifth-grade elementary school that will be created at the current Eagles Education Center in south Fargo. That position starts with the 2016-17 school year.

Wrigley-Lingle is now principal at Fargo's McKinley Elementary School, where she has served since 2014. From 2010 to 2014, Wrigley-Lingle was principal of Fargo's Clara Barton-Hawthorne Elementary School.
Cheryl Janssen has been named principal of McKinley Elementary School starting in the 2016-17 school year. She will replace Wrigley-Lingle.
Janssen is now an assistant principal at Fargo's Lewis and Clark Elementary School. She will transition to McKinley in January 2016, district officials said.
