Fargo police seek academy participants

The Fargo Police Department is currently recruiting citizens from the Fargo-Moorhead area to attend the department's 10-week spring Citizens Academy. The deadline for applications is Feb. 2.

The Fargo Police Department is currently recruiting citizens from the Fargo-Moorhead area to attend the department's 10-week spring Citizens Academy. The deadline for applications is Feb. 2.

The free academy meets Tuesday nights at the Fargo Regional Training Center, located at 2802 N. University Drive, Fargo, from 7 to 10 p.m.

The academy, which begins March 6, covers various topics and divisions of the police department.

Citizens 18 years and older are encouraged to apply. The academy involves classroom and some hands-on activities. Upon graduation, citizens are invited to participate in a ride-along program with officers during various shifts.
