FARGO - Police here are asking for the public's help in finding a cat that bit a 10-year-old boy Monday.

The cat is described as medium-sized and black with orange stripes and white markings on its neck. It bit the boy at about 4:30 p.m. and was last seen in the 600 block of 10th Avenue North.

If the cat isn't located to check for the status of its vaccinations, the boy will have to undergo a series of rabies shots, police stated in a news release.

Anyone with information about the cat is asked to call the Fargo Police Department at (701) 241-8284. If no one answers, leave a message and a Community Service Officer will return the call as soon as possible, the news release stated.
