FARGO - Police here are asking for the public's help in finding a gun believed to have been used in a robbery on Friday.

The armed robbery happened in the area of the Bottle Barn liquor store next to the K-Mart plaza in south Fargo. A suspect was quickly apprehended after he fled the scene by running through the neighborhood just west of the K-Mart plaza. Police believe the suspect may have thrown away a small handgun while running.

The police have conducted an exhaustive search of the neighborhood, but have not been able to find the gun. Because the firearm may have been tossed in a backyard or on other private property, the police are asking residents of the

neighborhood to check their property

If a firearm is found, residents are asked to contact the Fargo Police Department at (701) 235-4493.
