Fargo to hold hearing on Galleria building

The Fargo City Commission will hold a dangerous-building hearing on Feb. 22 for the Galleria On 42nd apartment complex that was destroyed by fire on Oct. 11.

The Fargo City Commission will hold a dangerous-building hearing on Feb. 22 for the Galleria On 42nd apartment complex that was destroyed by fire on Oct. 11.

The hearing follows city procedure for a building to be demolished within 30 days of notice that building inspectors deemed the structure dangerous.

A building inspection was conducted on Dec. 20, after which the dangerous building notice was sent to the owners.

Inspections Administrator Ron Strand said his office has been in contact with an attorney for the building's owners and is confident they have the intention to remove the structure.

The hearing is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 in the Fargo City Commission chambers, 200 3rd St. N.
