FARGO - The city of Fargo will kick off Emerald Ash Borer Awareness Week on Sunday.
The goal is to increase public awareness about emerald ash borers and the threat they pose to ash trees in Fargo and North Dakota.
Emerald ash borer larva kill ash trees by feeding on the soft layer of wood just under the bark that moves water and nutrients throughout the tree.
The forestry department has provided the following tips:
•Don't move firewood.

•Become aware of symptoms and report possible sightings to the forestry department.
