FARGO - Authorities are warning hotels here about a man pretending to be a pool inspector in an attempt to make money, the city said in a news release.

FARGO – Authorities are warning hotels here about a man pretending to be a pool inspector in an attempt to make money, the city said in a news release.

The man, presenting himself as a city employee, has visited two local hotels and tried to scam them by saying their pools failed an inspection and offering to repair the issues for a fee, the city said.

The city said it inspects pools, but inspectors do not make repairs.

Those with information on the suspect are asked to call the city at (701) 241-1388.
