WAHPETON, N.D. - A Fargo woman pleaded not guilty Monday to a felony charge of manslaughter stemming from a fatal November 2008 crash.
Melanie Flegel, who was 37 at the time of the crash near Christine, entered the plea in Richland County District Court, said State's Attorney Ronald McBeth.
The charges stem from a rollover crash that killed 42-year-old Ricky Santiago of Fargo, who was a passenger in Flegel's vehicle.
Flegel and front-seat passenger Faith Blotsky of Fargo were injured in the crash.
The trio were returning from the Dakota Magic Casino near Hankinson at the time of the 10:12 p.m. accident.
