Spring flooding a year ago forced Jackie Holter to leave her home in Fargo's River Vili subdivision for a week.
"I'm hoping things will be different this year," she said.
Holter was among about 250 people who on Wednesday attended the last of the city of Fargo's series of flood informational meetings at the Civic Center Centennial Hall.
Wednesday's meetings were for residents of River Vili; the Drain 27 area west of Interstate 29; and Drain 53 south of 52nd Avenue South to 64th Avenue South.
The River Vili subdivision was evacuated during 2009 flood spring.

Holter said her neighborhood has begun to organize to fight this year's flood and is optimistic of a good outcome.
April Walker, city engineer, said officials don't plan to do anything radically different in the River Vili area this year.
But the city learned valuable lessens a year ago and will work effectively this year, she said.
Changes this year include creating 35 reaches, or flood-fighting areas, and assigning city personnel to each of them, she said.
A light but steady rain fell outside during Wednesday's meetings.
Mayor Dennis Walaker said the rain was unwelcome, but that it's too soon to predict how much the precipitation will affect potential flooding.
Rain is likely today, with a chance of rain Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The city is making good progress in preparing for the flood, he said.

"The pre-planning process is going extremely well," he said.
