FARGO – The Fargodome is committed to spending $9.5 million on new video boards at the arena.
Other major items are four corner boards ($1.1 million), a video control room ($1.3 million) and two rear scoreboards ($3.5 million).
The boards will be useful for both sporting and nonsporting events, General Manager Rob Sobolik said. Bids for the project will go out hopefully in early March and the project should be done by the start of North Dakota State University football season in late August, he said.
The Fargo Dome Authority Board voted unanimously in favor of the plan, with board member Nancy Jordheim absent. The plan was originally said to cost $7.5 million to $9 million.
It would be paid through a 7-to-10-year bond.
