FARGO - The Celebrity Walk of Fame is getting a makeover, adding a new big name to its path of star-marked concrete slabs that line the front loop of the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The walk, originally built into the sidewalk along First Avenue North beginning in 1989, left downtown in 2000 and now draws tourists at 2001 44th St. S.
But it hasn't changed since 2007, when "Full House" TV actor Dave Coulier joined the likes of Aerosmith, Bert and Ernie, Garth Brooks and more than 100 of the biggest stars, politicians and musicians that have visited Fargo by leaving his handprints and autograph in a concrete slab.
CVB President and CEO Charley Johnson said Wednesday that country singer Mary Chapin Carpenter left her mark while in town for a concert at the Fargo Theatre last week.
"We've got a fresh one sitting out back here that has to be planted, so we're trying to make some progress on it," he said.

The CVB also hired a concrete worker to spruce up the old slabs, using a power washer to clean them before adding a stain to make the lettering and handprints stand out more.
Johnson said a concrete seal will be added to help preserve and protect the tourist attraction.
