Fargo's spring compost, wood chip program begins May 4

FARGO — The city of Fargo has announced the dates for its spring compost and wood chip giveaway program, with the first occurring from 7:15 am. to noon Saturday, May 4.

The compost and wood chips are available just west of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility, 606 43 1/2 St. N. Residents with bags and cans will need to load their own materials. City staff members will assist in loading pickups and trailers. To claim free compost and wood chips, individuals will need to show proof of residency, such as a utility bill or driver's license.

Other program dates, all from 3:30 to 5 p.m., include:

  • Wednesday, May 8.
  • Thursday, May 9.
  • Wednesday, May 15.
  • Thursday, May 16.
  • Wednesday, May 22.
  • Thursday, May 23.
