A Felton, Minn., man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for retaliating against a witness.

A 12-person federal jury found Justin Ray Peterson, 25, guilty in January of threatening and assaulting a witness who provided information in a federal drug-trafficking investigation. The incident took place in September.

Peterson will serve all but one month of his sentence concurrently with a sentence in the related drug-trafficking case. In that case, Peterson was sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.

U.S. District Court Judge Ralph R. Erickson recommended to the Bureau of Prisons that Peterson serve out his sentence in Oxford, Wis.
