Fiery crash kills person on University of Minnesota campus

ST. PAUL-One person was killed in a fiery, single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on the west side of the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus.
The vehicle was heading south on Cleveland Avenue when it veered left across the oncoming lane and struck trees at the edge of the U athletic fields south of Larpenteur Avenue, according to campus police.
The vehicle caught fire and the driver, the only person in the vehicle, was killed. The accident was reported at 2:47 p.m.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
