FARGO - A small fire that produced heavy smoke caused minor smoke and fire damage to a lower-level apartment here overnight.
A tenant in the building at 1306 3rd Ave. S. awoke to smoke in their apartment unit and called 911 at about 11:45 p.m. Monday, according to Assistant Fire Chief Gary Lorenz.
Crews located a fire involving a window sill in a lower-level apartment unit. The tenants weren't home at the time, and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
