FARGO - A chemical spill at Tons of Fun Daycare in Fargo caused about 30 children to be evacuated Friday.
The Fargo Fire Department responded to the call at 4101 13th Ave. S. at about 4:41 p.m. Friday. Day care employees had noticed a chemical odor and found a wet spot on the carpet near the wall adjacent to Camelot Cleaners.
Earlier in the day, there had been a spill in the dry cleaners and some of the dry cleaning fluid, tetrachloroethylene, had seeped under the wall and into the carpet of the day care, the fire department said in a news release.
The children were moved as a precaution. No one was injured by the fumes. The spill and seepage has been cleaned up, and the day care is operating.
