HAWLEY, Minn. - The state fire marshal's office says the fire that destroyed a warehouse in Hawley was caused by a hot vent pipe igniting some attic insulation.
The fire last week consumed the warehouse owned by the Rapat Corp.
An independent investigation by the company's insurer also concluded that the fire was started by the vent pipe from a national gas heater.
Firefighters fought the fire in wind chills of 40 below zero.
