Emergency responders were called to a fire at 470 Elm St. about 2:20 p.m.

Authorities believe the fire started in the business Kindred Kabinets but did not consider it suspicious. A chiropractic office and two apartments are also in the building, but everyone escaped safely.

The firefighter was taken to a Fargo hospital and checked for smoke inhalation, but his condition was not considered life-threatening.
