FARGO - The Red River is forecast to dip below Fargo's moderate flood stage of 25 feet early Thursday morning.
The latest reading on the Red in Fargo-Moorhead was 25.52 feet at 7:15 this morning, more than 11 feet below the crest of 36.99 feet on March 21.
This year's flood was the seventh highest in recorded history. Five of the eight highest crests at Fargo have come since 1997.
The moderate flood stage marks the river height in which Fargo's park areas along the river begin to flood.
The National Weather Service forecasts a continued gradual drop in the Red River.

Today is expected to bring sunny skies and a high near 54.
