DILWORTH - For Bryan Thygeson, taking over as superintendent for the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District will be a homecoming of sorts.
Thygeson, who now leads Warren-Alvarado-Oslo schools, said Tuesday that he has verbally committed to take over at D-G-F. He is expected to start Nov. 1.
His wife, Kathy (Peterson), grew up in Dilworth. He married her in Dilworth, where her parents still live.
"This is kind of a coming home for our family," he said.
Thygeson will be in the district office today, and plans to come down every week or two "just to make sure the transition runs smooth."

He started in education 27 years ago, teaching math and science, and coaching sports in Hawley, Minn. In 1997, he started a 10-year stint as principal of Marshall County Central High School in Newfolden. He was named superintendent at W-A-O in 2007.
His priorities are to work on D-G-F's fiscal and facilities needs.
He sees the challenges of a growing district "as great opportunities."
Until Thygeson takes over, the district will be run by interim co-superintendents. They are junior high Principal Colleen Houglum and high school Principal Terry Karger.
