Send us stories of your memories from that time period for a series that will run during the Fourth of July holiday week. We're looking for stories from North Dakota/Minnesota veterans, their families and regular North Dakotans/Minnesotans who remember hearing about the war on the news, protests, etc.

Please include your name, your city and a phone number to reach you if we have any questions. We will publish as many responses as we can. Please limit your responses to 250 words.

You can send responses to politics@wday.com or write to Teri Finneman c/o Forum Communications, Press Room, State Capitol, Bismarck, ND 58505.

The deadline for responses is July 1.
