MOORHEAD — Local genealogy research expert Rick Crume will present a free genealogy research workshop at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Moorhead Public Library.
Crume will cover DNA testing services such as Ancestry.com or 23andMe, which allow users to find insights into ethnicity, find relatives, identify inherited health risks or prove relationships. Attendees will be walked through a comparison of the major genealogy DNA testing companies and will learn about third-party tools such as DNA Painter, which enables users to learn more from their DNA results.
Crume will be available for two hours of individual genealogy research consultations by appointment at each location hosting this event. Contact your library to schedule an appointment.
These workshops are offered free of charge thanks to funding from the Minnesota Legacy Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
