FARGO -- Foster children who are looking to be adopted will be featured at the FargoDome today.
For the past 11 years, the North Dakota Heart Gallery has been helping to host a gala.
The gala will feature 27 portraits of children who are in the foster care system and are looking for forever homes.
The portraits allow families and parents to meet the kids through their pictures.
Over the past 11 years, 238 children have been featured in the gallery and half of them have been adopted.

The founder of the North Dakota Heart Gallery, Michelle Kommer, said kids have a very high chance of being adopted when they are young. But when they turn 9 years old, their chances of being adopted plummets into single digit percentages.
" These kids come with experiences and they bring language and love and experiences into your home and they make your family richer," Kommer said.
Not only is the event special to adoptive parents and families, but also to the foster children.
"A lot of kids don't have the type of documentation of their lives that many of us - that many of us do," Kommer said. "And so that's been a really special gift that we've been able to give as well."
The free event is also family friendly and will have food, games and a bounce house.
It will be at the FargoDome from 5:30 to 7:30 where people can come and go as they please.
At given any time, there are between 1,500-2,000 children in foster care in North Dakota.
However, of that number, around 150-200 children are waiting to be adopted, in which 90 percent of them will be adopted by their foster families or relatives. That leaves around 15-20 kids who are waiting to be adopted.
