GLYNDON, Minn. - Sam Spaeth isn't always going to light up the scoreboard. However, the Hawley junior does know how to pick her spots.
Spaeth sparked a run early in the second half, giving Hawley just enough breathing room to hold off Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton for a 45-39 victory on Tuesday.
"She lit it up a little tonight, didn't she?" said Hawley coach Bill Gottenborg on Spaeth, who led all scorers with 17 points. "She hit some shots and had a very good game for us."
Spaeth scored all seven points in a 7-2 Nuggets surge that turned a two-point game into a 35-28 Hawley lead with 9 minutes, 39 seconds to go.
