Law enforcement agencies are investigating an overnight burglary at the Kmart store in Grand Forks.
An internal alarm was activated at 3:17 a.m. today, according to a report from Grand Forks Police Department.
Video evidence indicated that one unknown person had entered the store and took an undetermined amount of merchandise from several departments. The suspect was wearing what appeared to be a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt pulled over the head, with dark pants, police said.
It is believed that the alarm was tripped as the suspect was leaving the store, because the suspect already had fled the building when officers arrived at about 3:21 a.m., Sgt. Cody Cannon said.
Grand Forks Police Department's criminal investigation team was still on the scene at 6:30 a.m.
