The Grand Forks (N.D.) School Board voted tonight to offer the position of superintendent to present Moorhead Superintendent Larry Nybladh.
The offer comes hours after Grand Forks public school officials visited Moorhead public schools to inspect the district's operations and interview employees. Nybladh emerged as the leading candidate for the superintendent position at Grand Forks Public Schools, which opens this summer.
Grand Forks officials discussed Nybladh's leadership with school staff and community members as the final step before offering Nybladh the position. Interim Superintendent Ron Grewell retires at the end of the school year.
"We agreed to offer Dr. Nybladh the job based on the process today and interviews conducted," School Board President Mike St. Onge said Wednesday night. "We learned very good things about the school district and Nybladh, some of which we already knew."
Now Nybladh and district officials must negotiate a contract for his employment, St Onge said.
