FARGO — Beginning Tuesday, May 28, the Great Plains Food Bank will kick off its 2019 Youth Summer Meals Program at more than twice as many locations across the region as 2018.
The program will operate in a total of nine locations in Fargo, West Fargo, Hillsboro, Valley City, Jamestown, and Bismarck throughout the summer — five more locations than last year.
Each year, the Great Plains Food Bank supplies needed food assistance to more than 97,000 hungry individuals, with 36 percent of them being children. The program offers a free lunch during the week when children might not otherwise have options to eat.
