Guard biathlon team wins national meet

CAMP RIPLEY, Minn. - The North Dakota National Guard biathlon team won first place in a 22.5 kilometer relay competition recently held at Camp Ripley.

CAMP RIPLEY, Minn. - The North Dakota National Guard biathlon team won first place in a 22.5 kilometer relay competition recently held at Camp Ripley.

The relay team of Capt. Eric Nordgren, Duluth, Minn.; Sgt. 1st Class Kent Pulst, Devils Lake, N.D.; Sgt. Blake Hillerson, Fargo; and Spc. Brandon Pulst, Grand Forks was coached by Spc. Jordan Becker, Devils Lake.

Team members must ski and shoot targets with a rifle.

Hillerson also won first place in an individual race. He will soon travel to Italy to compete against over 20 other countries in the World Military Championship.
