DETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- A 45-year-old woman remains hospitalized after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
Tammy Jean Tedford-Crippen is in serious condition at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis after what police say was an accidental shooting.
Detroit Lakes Police Chief Kelvin Keena said the woman suffered a head wound when a handgun discharged at her residence in Detroit Lakes.
The shooting happened about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday. Linda Livingston, a Detroit Lakes police investigator, said a single shot was fired from the handgun.
Foul play is not suspected, Keena said. Authorities would not elaborate on how the shooting happened.
