A Harvey, N.D., youth died Saturday after crashing his motorcycle while jumping hills, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
The Wells County Sheriff's Department identified the crash victim as Michael M. Stumpf, 17.
The State Patrol said the crash occurred just after 5 p.m. Saturday on private property three miles south and a mile west of Harvey.
Stumpf tried to jump a small gorge but miscalculated, struck the opposite side incline, hit the handlebar and was ejected, the State Patrol said. He was transported to a Harvey hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
