The public is invited to attend a community-wide hate crime/ hate incident response training from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 7 in the commons area at Northwest Technical College, 1900 28th Ave. S., Moorhead.
Silke Hanson, mediation specialist with the U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Service, will facilitate the workshop, which is free and open to anyone in the community.
The workshop will focus on preventing and responding to hate crimes and hate incidents.
In addition to highlighting community strategies and partnerships for preventing hate incidents, the program will work to develop leaders who will implement hate crime response efforts as well as unify the community's voice in its stand against hate.
The event is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, Fargo Human Relations Commission, Moorhead Human Rights Commission, Northwest Tech and North Dakota State University.
