WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., launched a contest Tuesday to replace her cover photo on Facebook, according to a news release from her office.
Heitkamp called on North Dakotans to submit their favorite original photographs that best typify the state's beautiful scenery and heritage.
Submissions will be posted on Heitkamp's Facebook page as they come in, according to the release. In mid-September, one of the photographs will be chosen as the winner and it will become Heitkamp's new cover photo on Facebook.
"North Dakota's landscapes and natural beauty are so unique to our state, and we take great pride in them," Heitkamp said in the release. "I'm launching a Facebook photo contest to encourage North Dakotans to send in their favorite original photos of the state to celebrate our rich history and help others enjoy what makes North Dakota so beautiful. I hope North Dakotans throughout the state will participate in the contest."
To submit photos, people should send their favorite high-quality photo of North Dakota - which they took themselves - to press@heitkamp.senate.gov . Participants should include their name and where the photo was taken.
