MOORHEAD — The following events and exhibits will be offered by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County during the month of December:
- Senior archivist Mark Peihl will present "A Local History of the Spanish Flu" at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Peihl will offer a history of the deadliest flu pandemic using diary and journal entries, public health data and modern scientific work.
- The Comstock House will host holiday tours on the evenings of Thursday, Dec. 6 and Thursday, Dec. 20. The house will be decorated and illuminated with Christmas decorations, trees, stockings by the fire and mistletoe. Hot chocolate and Christmas cookies will be offered at the end of the tour.
- The Comstock House is also hosting a Victorian Christmas from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15. Attendees will explore traditions of a Victorian Christmas, including parlor games, learn about local history and discover the origins of holiday traditions. Moorhead High School Christmas carolers will sing at 5 p.m. and the Concordia Flute Choir will perform at 6 p.m. Hot chocolate and holiday treats will be served. Reserve a spot

- Three events at the Hjemkomst Center will explore Indian culture, including a Children's Indian Fashion and Dance Show at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, an Indian Fashion Show at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29 and a Jugaad workshop exploring the Indian engineering concept of "something from nothing" at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12.
- A new exhibition, "RACE: Are We So Different?" will be on display in the third floor atrium at the Hjemkomst Center until May 2019.
- The World in Fargo-Moorhead, a collaborative photo and story project exploring diversity in Fargo-Moorhead, has a print exhibition on the third floor hallway display at the Hjemkomst Center.
