ABERDEEN, S.D. - Sen. Hillary Clinton trails Sen. Barack Obama in delegates, superdelegates and even celebrity endorsements. She missed a great opportunity Thursday morning in Aberdeen to pick up some historical heavyweights.

The 5th-grade class at Roncalli Elementary School in Aberdeen held a "wax museum," in which students dressed up as famous historical figures. When approached, they would give a brief bio.

When prodded, with their parents' blessings, they also weighed in on how that particular figure would vote. Not surprisingly, the views of the students and their idols were the same.

Baseball players like "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, Hank Aaron and Jackie Robinson all were swinging for Obama, because, like Robinson, who broke baseball's color barrier, the Illinois senator will be the first black president, said Braden McNeary.

"Obama would be a great president. He'll treat Native Americans right," said Jule Christine Mercer, dressed as Pocahontas. She later wavered. "I haven't really thought about this. I'm just a kid."

Lance Armstrong, one of the few living heroes, would vote differently.

"He'd vote for (Sen. John) McCain. I hope," said Sam Reynan. "(McCain's) not for abortion and (Armstrong) probably wouldn't like babies being killed."

Oh, kids say the most damning things.
