The American Kennel Club and AKC Companion Animal Recovery have named Deb Hoff and the Fargo-Moorhead Kennel Club recipients of the Diane Albers Memorial Disaster Relief Award.
The award is in memory of Albers, a delegate for the Central Florida Kennel Club and president of the Florida Association of Kennel Clubs who worked to get supplies and care to animals affected and displaced by natural disasters, especially hurricanes.
It recognizes individuals or AKC clubs that have continued her vision by volunteering during natural disasters.
During the recent floods in Fargo, Hoff obtained supplies for a temporary shelter at the West Fargo Fairgrounds where evacuated and displaced pets were housed.
A cash award is made from the AKC CAR Canine Support and Relief Fund to the winning club to continue their disaster relief efforts.
