The Barnesville Main Street Program will sponsor a Hometown Holidays celebration Friday in downtown Barnesville, Minn.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with a parade through downtown Barnesville featuring floats made by local businesses and organizations and the official arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The parade will be followed by the official lighting of the community tree decorated by local elementary students, songs led by a church choir, and refreshments at Friendship Park, located at the corner of Front Street and Highway 9. Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend to meet with children and hand out treat bags.
The event will provide the opportunity for shoppers to visit downtown businesses and enjoy an art display featuring the work of Barnesville High School students at the Advantage Realty office of Ted duCharme, 112 Front St.
